what are your opinions of IKEA kitchen cabinets and appliances?

we are planning to remodel our kitchen with Ikea cabinets and appliances and would love any advice and opinions on them, Thank you. Also I would like to ask if anyone that has used them has children? Sometimes this can make a difference.

1. Some people will get all snooty at you over IKEA furniture, but my flat is about 70% IKEA, and it looks good. It's cheap, it looks good, and in the case of the kitchen, it's fairly hardy. I don't have the money for 'higher class' furniture. Besides, I like the IKEA style.

3. I think they are very stylish and I love the sleek lines/minimalist approach to IKEA's kitchen models. The appliances are nice too.
4. I cannot stand the quality of the Ikea Cabinets. They fall apart, they're unstable. Once you unpackage them you cannot return them no matter what. The wood looks nice, but it is veneer and press board. You can find the same priced, way nicer quality at a custom cabinet shop.
5. A friend of mine put in an Ikea kitchen years ago and it is still going strong. I like Ikea and their kitchens are very nice looking with great pricing...I do know the cabinets can be tricky to assemble and hang, so have some patience. As for the Ikea appliances..that I do not know..never bought them, but I did price them verses other name brands a couple of times and went with other name brands...check out some comparable products before deciding on these...of course they may be great...maybe google for some reviews.
6. I redid my entire kitchen with them last winter and am quite pleased. VEry good bang for the buck. The appliances are mostly made for IKEA by Whirlpool anyway and I have always had good luck with that brand. I went to various kitchen contractor showrooms and inspected and priced a wide variety of options and settled on IKEA for the consistency of the finishes, quality of fittings, availability, price and ease of installation, most of which I did myself. I used the Nexus medium brown with the anthracite matte black slide in electric range, matching gas cooktop and rangehood, plus the farmhouse slide in sink and highrise satin stainless faucet with flexible pull out. Also did the laminate counter top, black-brown with the stainless edging. Everybody raves about how it looks and I love using it. Very well designed.
7. I really like everything that IKEA sells.Have bought many items from IKEA and they are very durable.The only down side for me is the stores are too far away.
8. I've used the cabinets and would definitely buy them again. Appliances, haven't tried any but wouldn't have any hesitation. Everything I've had from Ikea has performed as it should.
