Free Standing Shelving

I need a bed room style?

Well my bed room is a little boring now and I need a change. I have this FABULOUS mirror that's old fashioned looking. Its blue and where bits of the blue paint has flaked off theres gold underneath. I have a tall shelving unit that's white and I have a double bed, chest of draws, double wardrobe and a desk. The idea has to be quite easy and cheap. 1. I think it would be very cute to have an upholsterd headboard. You can use to old frame of your bed minus the headboard. Just get a large sheet of wood, cut it to the size and shape you wish it to be, attach foam to the wood with either staples or doublesidedd tape. Then Take yourupholsteryy and put it over the board and foam stapling it to the back of the wood. To add some glam to this you can add some really cute button tufting, sew in some really shiny and cute buttons. Also you can add a wood frame around it You can use a really cute fabric,or a niceneutrall colour which ever suits you. This is great and quite inexpensive. Heres an example of a headboard with tufted buttons (keep in mind you ca use different colours, patterns, buttons, shapes, etc) http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/uimages/la/033108_lascav1.jpg Another thing you can do that is also pretty cheap is have fun with paint. use 2 colours of paint, you can doverticale stripes or polka-dotss or even a bold accent wall (usually the bed is against this wall) or you can also play with a nice wallpaper. Another very cheap thing to do that can add a dramatic change is paint the white furnature or if its wood stain. Make sure it goes with the room and that it doesnt look like a 5 year old did it lol. For the desk, add some really cute accessories, boxes, lamps, pen/pencil holders (you can make) , etc. An idea for above the desk is to Use an arrangment of picture frames with black and white prints, or pics of friends, family, even pets here are examples of the frames http://www.outblush.com/women/images/2007/08/wall-gallery-frame-set.jpg remember to keep it simple, you dont want it to look too over the top or tacky. 2. take blank CD's, and hang them up skattered on the wall. and then, take your favorite CD's, and put them on the wall. or put pictures all over. like, memories, or famouse people. w/e u like the best(:
