Free Standing Shelving

I was given a wardrobe (for storing clothes). I would like to convert it to a kitchen pantry. Any suggestions?

I would like to paint the wardrobe to make it look more "kitcheny". And install shelving. The wardrobe has two full doors. I would like to dress it up a bit. Help! Is this idea possible?

1. Might depend on the wardrobe. Painting is always possible--pick the colour that goes with the rest of your kitchen. Adding shelves might be trickier, wardrobes are often thin-walled since the clothes hang from the top, and if its walls are thin they may not be sturdy enough to hold shelves with food on them.
